Ainsley Is…

May 15, 2011

all dolled up for the ballet (4/12)

… almost 2 and 3/4. That is almost 3 years old. (I cannot even think about that right now. I’m going to call her 2 years old for as long as possible.)

… hilarious. (“No… I don’t have no opinions.”)

"Smile like a princess, Ainsley." 4/21

… playing with a few lanyards, silk scarves, and washcloths. They are currently her favorite “toys” — they transform into various characters and people throughout the day. (One goes missing in the couch cushion: “Hey, where’s the princess?!”)

… having a hard time sharing her “toys” with Thaddeus, but will usually chuck another toy at him to be nice.

"driving" the train at Tot Lot playground (5/6)

… napping again. (Thank you, Jesus!)

… (re)discovering the wonders of spring — watching bugs on the windows, picking dandelions, wearing summer clothes (when it’s not 42 degrees out), and walking outside (again… when it’s not 42 degrees).

Peek! (4/7)

… a swimmer! We’ve been to the pool in our building a couple times. She is starting to love it.

… a sweetheart. She loves the babies at library storytime and cousins Addy and Miles (but not quite as much as she loves snuggling her baby brother, “b’Addeus”).

… saying to Daddy almost every day after work, “I’m so happy to see you!” “I am so happy you are home!” “I missed you!” And she means every word.

Reading in Round Lake (4/18)

… being such a good listener. We’ve had some great outings lately with a little girl who says, “Okay!” when it’s time to leave. Great job, big girl!

… a singer (ABC’s, Deep and Wide, and songs about daily life, meals, and nap time).

At MCM 4/26

… starting to learn family routines. “Shoes off, wash your hands!” every time we get in the door.

… a bright, thoughtful, kind, and beautiful (inside and out) little girl.

We love you, Ainsley Ruth!

These are great pictures and updates. Amanda, that picture of Ainsley in her TC Bear shirt – oh my, the expression is one I’ve seen on your face. 🙂

    Love you all!
