Merry Christmas!

December 24, 2009

We are in Alexandria!

We had a wonderful time in Ham Lake for Christmas Eve Eve with Grandpa Ron, Grandma Dana, Auntie Katie, and Uncle Ben. Ainsley was not herself at all, but she did get a second wind halfway through opening presents and put on quite a show while wearing her new apron.

Aprons give me a bit of a buzz, too.

Then she crashed and needed to go to bed. Except she was up quite a few times from 7:30-11:30 p.m. Scott and I were pretty exhausted by her continual waking. And I’ve caught her cold and was ready to sleep for a few days. Then, a Christmas miracle: Ainsley slept from 1:00-8:30 a.m. Yay!

We weren’t sure if we’d make it to Alex today, or even tomorrow, with all the snowy weather reports (12-20 inches expected!). But we received a Christmas gift of traveling mercies. The snow started flying here after we arrived.

We’re settling in for the Freitag Christmas. Grandma Sharon (Ainsley’s great grandma) is here and has supplied my mom with the fudge recipe. So all is well.

And thanks for this update…I was wondering about all you guys and Grandma! Grace made it home too, didn’t she?
