Gick

December 21, 2009

It’s an old word in my family.

“Gick.”

It’s our word for “sick.”

And that’s what we have here.

Gickness.

Poor Ainsley Roo.

Thus, no blogging.

Thus, few homemade meals.

Thus, no Christmas card.

Thus, no sleep.

Thus, last-minute gift making.

****

Then there’s the nearly 10 days I’ll be away from home starting Wednesday (Christmas Eve Eve with the Ginn’s; December 24-January 1 with the Freitag’s, weather and Lord permitting).

Packing. List making. Fridge cleaning.

Thus, no blogging.

Thus, few homemade meals.

Thus, no Christmas card.

Thus, poor sleep.

****

Then there’s my busy busy hubby. He’s busy. Work Work Work.

Thus, no blogging.

Thus, few homemade meals.

Thus, no Christmas card.

Thus, crummy sleep.

****

So, when Ainsley is feeling better. And when I’m more settled. And when Scott’s life is calmer.

That’s when I’ll be blogging.

And making homemade meals.

And finishing our online “Happy New Year” card.

And, Lord willing, sleeping. Yes, sleeping.

That will be good.

****

In the meantime, gift making. Gift wrapping. Pandora listening “The Temptations (Holiday). Chipotle and Papa Murphy’s eating. New Year’s card pondering.

And resting in the hope and joy of Jesus, babe and Rescuer, this Christmas.

“ ‘Is ANYTHING too wonderful for God?’ Gabriel asked.” (The Jesus Storybook Bible)
