CSC on Oprah!

September 30, 2009

One of our favorite organizations is the Children’s Shelter of Cebu, in the Phillipines.  We were invited by the Stoll’s to attend the CSC Banquet a few years ago, and we keep coming back. We love what CSC is doing.

I just got an email that one of their adoptive families and a staff member will be featured on the Oprah show this Friday, October 2! The details are below in the email from CSC’s stateside director, Matt Buley.

You might have heard about how our Child Development Director Sandy Swanson got connected to the Oprah show last spring.  One of our adoptive families in Houston, TX ended up being highlighted as a follow-up to a previous show they were involved in.  About a week before filming, the producers decided they would like to surprise the family by having the person who they credited with saving their son’s life (our Sandy) come out and join them on stage.  In a whirlwind of activity, she ended up in Chicago for filming only days after having learned of the offer.

We have just received word that the show will air Friday!  The date has fluctuated some since filming, but they have the “Fascinating Families” show slated and up on the website–it looks solid now.  The picture showing there is the Roach family who adopted Ross from CSC.

We’re excited!  We’re excited for Sandy, and we’re hopeful this translates into exposure for CSC.  Ultimately we pray God will be glorified.  Hope you get a chance to watch the show!
