Christmas at the Freitag’s

January 13, 2009

After a quiet Christmas Eve morning of just our little family of three, we loaded up the car and drove up to Alexandria for Christmas with the Freitag’s. Ainsley, as usual, fell asleep with a nuk, Pooh hat, and dolly.

The Freitag tradition is to open family presents on Christmas Eve. When we were kids, we would open Santa gifts on Christmas morning. A Christmas tradition nut, I still ask my parents to let us split the gift opening this way.

We spent Christmas day inside, eating, relaxing, and watching movies. My cousin Ann was there (she’s holding Ainsley in the sepia-toned photo below) and captured a fabulously wonderful picture of Ainsley, which I will post later this week.

I miss Christmas, don’t you?

I will treasure these memories always.
To quote Great Gramma Ruth, “This is a special, special time in your life.”

    I agree.

    A friend of Gramma GG.

I read your blog at least twice a month. Your family is absolutely precious! I also enjoy the other sites linked to your blog.

My baby will turn 18 in a few short weeks. I remember those first few years so well and they are truly a gift from God.

Thank you for sharing your scrumptious Ainsley with all of us!

    Blessings,
    Diane
