Ainsley Tooth

December 2, 2008

My new nickname for Ainsley is “Ainsley Tooth”. It would appear that our little Ainsley Ruth is teething (at least I hope that’s why she’s inconsolable, crabby, and miserable). She’s got a lot of the signs —

  • drooling
  • drool rash on her chin
  • rosy cheeks
  • crabby attitude, and sometimes screaming
  • chewing on just about everything
  • fussy nurser
  • poopy pants
  • calms down when I push my finger on her gums
  • Did I mention drool and often blood-curdling screams?

We’ve queried our parents to find out when Scott and I started teething since it’s hereditary. Our first teeth appeared around 6 months. If I have to wait another 3 months before Ainsley’s teeth break through, I am going to need a support group to get me through it.

I’ll be taking Tylenol before bed tonight to relieve my aching back from toting around our little toother. And Ainsley might be taking some Tylenol, too.

OH MY….SOUNDS LIKE TEETHING ALRIGHT TO ME! SAMANTHA AND MICHAELA WERE AROUND THE 3 MO MARK WHEN THEY POPPED OUT THEIR FIRST TEETH. SAMANTHA GOT HER TWO BOTTOM TEETH AND MICHALEA’S FIRST TEETH WERE HER EYE TEETH…..WE CALLED HER “VAMPIRA” HOW WEIRD IS THIS….MICHAELA JUST LOST HER FIRST TOOTH TONIGHT AFTER SCHOOL. SHE DIDN’T KNOW IF SHE SHOULD LAUGH OR CRY.

HOPEFULLY YOU HAVE SOME TEETHING RINGS AND I THINK TYLENOL IS JUST FINE TO USE TOO. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Maybe the Tooth Fairy needed to HAVE Michaela’s tooth to give to Ainsley?

Poor Ainsley…I remember oh so very well….
Crying as they come in and not so darn happy about the process of having them fall out when that time comes.

As a show of solidarity and support, I’ll take tylenol too tonight.

If it helps you out any, Logan did the same thing around the same age.
His “teething” when on for awhile (like maybe a few weeks), and then it suddenly stopped.

His first tooth came in at 7 months.

Hang in there. Teething has got to be one of the hardest times for baby and mommy :).

Maybe Ainsley will get an early tooth, though.
    That would be cute :).

    Ginnie,
I think Ainsley might be a little “Vampira”, too. Her gums are a little raised at the eye teeth area. I’ll keep you posted!

Grace had a little different order in getting her baby teeth in as well. She got the bottom two and then rather than the top two, she got the next ones over. I assumed sucking on her “pluggin” caused it. Perhaps it was heredity?

Goodness knows, she, like Michaela were cute as a button with their “fangs!”
