Feeling Especially Psychic?

July 18, 2008

“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”

That being said, I have been inspired by a fellow blogger’s current contest for guessing her November baby’s gender and their name choices for a boy or girl. I thought this sounded like fun. As a prize to anyone who guesses one of our names (first names only — there’s four to choose from, 2 girls, 2 boys), we promise to name our 17th-born after you. What an honor, right?

Remember, our last name is Ginn (and just so you know, it’s pronounced with a G sound, not J like “gin”). This means that if you guess Finn, Brynn, Quinn, or Lynn, that you are probably not going to have a namesake in Ginn Child #17.

We wish you the best of luck. You’ll need it.

P.S. We won’t announce a winner (or call you all losers) until after Gizmo is born and named. We’re really good secret keepers when it comes to this name thing; you’ll need to be patient to find out if you’re right or wrong. 🙂

    Hmmmm….Hmmmmm…..

    THIS is a CHALLENGE!
    Just for fun though, right?

Girl’s names: Daisy, Lily, Violet or Chrysanthum…wink

    Boys: Roman, Carl, Elliott….or Elmer…wink

“Whatever you do don’t name it one of the “faddish” names…..like Elmer! Everywhere I look I see the name “Elmer.”

    “GRAMMA!…You’re reading the obituaries!”

Your Great Gramma Julianna to me when I was pregnant with YOU!

I think the first baby’s name will be…

Boy- Amos (That’s for you Dad)

    Or

Girl- Sara Lee (Because nobody does it like her….or is it doesn’t like her? I always forget!)

Did you really think I was going to share the real names? But as all of you who are reading this are finding out, is that Gizmo’s proud papa is very corny.

Nevertheless, I am very much looking forward to hearing from God what to name the baby. The naming of a child is so significant as seen by the names given to babies throughout the Bible. It is also significant for those whose names have been changed, ex. Paul’s name was changed as well as Jacob to Israel. Anyway, the naming of a child is truly a reflection of the significance of God naming His Son, whose name is above every name, and whose name is Wonderful. God chose His Son’s name and He had also chosen our child’s name before time began. What a wonderful thing to think about. God is so good to us!

Oh, thank you so much girls! I’m sure our child would be honored to be named after a guinea pig. 🙂 It is a very pretty name.

I’m vacillating between “Mantel” and “Killabrew.”
Nicknames then could be “Man” or “Boy Ginn” and “Killer.”

Killabrew Ginn sounds really good actually.
    “K.G.”…….Scott will like this!
    Also “Brewski.”….laughing loudly.

I think its a girl, it should be named after Rosie’s imaginary
friend, “Dr. Wisa.” (like in “Lisa” )

    She could be nicknamed, “Wisa.”

I want to clear up an earlier e-mail from g.g. She MISSPELLED both of my names and I am sure it was on purpose. Here’s the deal, it’s MANTLE, not mantel and KILLEBREW, not killabrew. Just so you know this is another example of her long term attempt to make me look foolish. Now these names should be reconsidered and take their rightful place at the top of the list. I am glad to hear the Scott is helping you out so much! But as your father I feel rather neglectful on the idea that you still need to be taught how to breathe. I would have sworn we went over that at some point in time. Love to all three of you…big poppy

Can’t we have some hints? Without, it’s a “crapshoot”. I have a hunch Gizmo will be replaced with a good, strong name.

There has got to be a “stand-up comedian” brewing somewhere in your family with all that humor running rampant!!
