We’re in Week 35, and we have 35 days to go. Isn’t that lovely how the numbers work out right now?

There’s a lot to cover from the past weekend, so I’m inserting a bunch of photos for you to peruse. I just can’t thank everyone enough for blessing us with food, manual labor, good company, and so much more!

Since you may notice he’s not in the pictures, Grampa Rick stayed in Alexandria for the weekend with Etta the Scottie dog. But we want to thank him, too, for letting us hog the rest of the family, for spoiling us with groceries, and for the beautiful crib for Gizmo.

Some milestones I’m thinking about today:

  • Tuesday, July 15 marked the beginning of week 35, the second of five birth classes (we covered the 1st stage of labor, watched a video, and discussed more breathing techniques, back labor comfort, and turning breech babies), and the one-month mark until the last day of camp.
  • Sunday, July 20 marks the one-month mark until D-Day (due date).
  • Next Friday, July 25 is also a big day: I have an important 36-week doctor’s visit and another baby shower. Somehow, I’ve managed to schedule doctor’s visits on the same day as both of my showers so far. Oh well.
  • And suddenly it will be August. I need to keep telling myself: “One day at a time.”

We’re all doing well. Fatigue is setting in for both Scott and me (as demonstrated in the silly faces above), but there’s also a lot of excitement that keeps us both buzzing (as demonstrated in the silly faces above). Gizmo’s really responsive to Daddy’s voice, which is fun for us both. And now that so many of our pre-baby projects are finished, we are both realizing that this is really happening. And soon. Isn’t it so exciting?!
