Tuesday, June 3: 29 weeks and a lawn mower

June 3, 2008

This is Becky.

Becky is an AmeriCorps Vista. That means she likes to help people. She is also very strong and likes to do manual labor, like mowing the lawn.

This is me.

I am a pregnant lady. That means I am increasingly un-helpful when it comes to some things. I am also not very strong and cannot mow the lawn.

This is Scott.

He is a Camp Director. That means he works 15 hours a day right now. He’s very strong, too, but he doesn’t have time mow the lawn.

What do you get when you have a tired and busy husband, a pregnant wife, and one very, very wonderful friend?

Becky — Thank you so much for coming to mow the lawn for us this week. You have totally blessed us!

****

I also want to give a shout out (Yeah, that’s right. I said “shout out.”) to Jessica.

The lovely lavender ensemble you see me wearing above was a birthday present from her, and it is my favorite pajama set. I had Scott do my 29-week photo last night since he leaves the house about the same time I get up in the morning. And nobody wants to see that.

    An ode to Becky.

    Ahem…

    Becky sure is the best,
    She rocks wearing a vest.
    She mows the lawn,
    Scott’s worries are gone
    And Amanda gets much-needed rest.
    Yaaaay Becky!

Well…I’ll give a “AMEN” to THAT Jessica!

Becky…feel free to come and mow our lawn anytime as well!
    Scott…you look adorable so “camped-out.”
    Amanda…if you were ANY CUTER ..well…sniff sniff…
