Exhaustion

April 23, 2008

Scott and I are consumed with work right now. Here’s a conversation we had last night:

Scott: You haven’t blogged in a while.

Amanda: Yeah. I know.

Scott: Hm.

Amanda: Do you have anything you want me to blog about to the world?

Scott: No.

Amanda: Me either.

We’re tired. It’s been a bit of a marathon for Scott gearing up for camp and winding down the school year programs. He’s swamped with calls, interviews, last-minute projects, and lots of thinking. I’m only a few days away from THE event I help organize each year at NWC. It’s a scholarship event for our donors and students, and it takes a lot of coordination. And I really don’t enjoy event planning.

We were able to sneak away for lunch together yesterday. It was a nice 1/2 hour at Wendy’s. I enjoyed talking to Scott during the day. By the time we get home at night, we’ve used up all our words for the day. We’re wiped out. I hear this stuff takes practice. And it doesn’t get easier when kids come along. Maybe it’s better after a nap, too.

I don’t have much to report. I just wanted to check in and make sure you are all still there. We’re here, too.
