Going for Gold

First of all, I’d like to congratulate Darby and the others who correctly guessed that the photos from Sunday Afternoon were taken at the Disney World teacups. I just love those pictures! Unfortunately, I do not feel the same way about the ride. I have a forgetfulness when it comes to those teacups. I always think I will enjoy the classic Disney ride. But I definitely do not. The pictures are cool, though!

Maybe I’ll give the ride another chance the next time we visit…

I bet you’re all wondering what a girl does with a day off. I’m here to tell you that in true Olympic fashion, I went for the gold on Monday.

High dive? No. I’d make a pretty big splash.

Fencing? No. I’m afraid of sharp objects.

Water polo? No. I get tired just watching those crazy people tread water!

My Olympic events have yet to be recognized by the IOC (International Olympic Committee). But if they were actual Olympic events, I’d get a real gold medal instead of a Rolo wrapped in gold-colored foil. Here’s what I’ve medaled in so far during my time away from work:

  • Napping. Three total, Saturday and Sunday combined.
  • Watching fashion and/or real-estate-based TV shows. (In fact, I set a new world record.)
  • Nesting. I took gold in the all-around for this event. That means I had the highest overall score after completing each apparatus: cleaning out fridge, wiping out fridge, washing dishes (twice), loading and unloading the dishwasher, doing laundry (four loads), cleaning kitchen, cleaning bathroom, organizing digital photos, labeling digital photos, tidying bedroom, tidying basement, resetting the clock on the digital camera, and wiping down kitchen countertop (five times).

Now that the house is sparkling clean, what’s a girl to do with another day off? Any suggestions for my next gold-medal event? Care to share what unofficial Olympic sport you might medal in today?

    Well done Rosie!

I’d say a medal is waiting for you in the following catagories:

    1. List checking for the BIG DAY ride to hospital
    2. Do It Yourself Pedicure! ….NOW THAT”S A TRICK!
    3. Folding and refolding baby clothes while grinning
    and crying in equal measure.
    4. Making sure the Grammas are at the TOP OF YOUR LISTS
    TO CALL!!!

    Love to all….tick tock!

What? No watching-movies-you’ve-seen-enough-to-quote-by-heart finals? You’re right, that would be a tight race. No guaranteed gold in that particular sport.

How about a Caribou-marathon? (not for the faint of heart)

It’s also hard to take the gold in championship Uno without your long-time, play-at-all-hours, multiple-city partner. Sad.
